The fruit of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise captures human lives [for God, as a fisher of men--he gathers and receives them for eternity]

Do not gather {and} heap up {and} store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust {and} worm consume {and} destroy, and where thieves break through and steal.

AND JESUS  {Yeshua-the Messiah} summoned to Him His twelve disciples and gave them power {and} authority over unclean spirits, to drive them out, and to cure all kinds of disease and all kinds of weakness {and} infirmity

But to as many as did receive {and} welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name--

For God so greatly loved {and} dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.

37: Now on the final and most important day of the Feast, Jesus {Yeshua-the Messiah}stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! 38: He who believes in Me [who cleaves to {and} trusts in {and} relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs {and} rivers of living water. 39: But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).

But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) {of Christ, Yeshua-the Messiah} for it is God's power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes {with} a personal trust {and} a confident surrender {and} firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek

The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.

9: Because if you acknowledge {and} confess with your lips that Jesus is L-rd and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that G-d raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10: For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to G-d), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) {and} confirms [his] salvation.

[No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.

17: Therefore if any person is [in-grafted] in Christ {Yeshua-the Messiah} he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh {and} new has come! 18: But all things are from God, Who through {Jesus} Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].

8: Which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence), 9:  Making known to us the mystery (secret) of His will (of His plan, of His purpose). [And it is this:] In accordance with His good pleasure (His merciful intention) which He had previously purposed {and} set forth in Him,

15:  And how from your childhood you have had a knowledge of {and} been acquainted with the sacred Writings, which are able to instruct you {and} give you the understanding for salvation which comes through faith in Christ Jesus [through the leaning of the entire human personality on G-d in Christ Jesus in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness]. 16: Every Scripture is G-d-breathed (given by His Holy inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof {and} conviction of sin, for correction of error {and} discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to G-d's will in thought, purpose, and action), 17: So that the man of God may be complete {and} proficient, well fitted {and} thoroughly equipped for every good work.

For the Word that G-d speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing {and} sifting {and} analyzing {and} judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.

Not forsaking {or} neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.

You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the {ever} living and lasting Word of God.

Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured {and} grow unto [completed] salvation,

For His Divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by {and} to His own glory and excellence (virtue).

EVERYONE WHO believes (adheres to, trusts, and relies on the fact) that Jesus is the Christ {Yeshua-the Messiah} is a born-again child of G-d; and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of Him (His offspring).

And this is that testimony (that evidence): G-d gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
