The
Jewish
ritual of Torah
reading (Hebrew:
קריאת התורה,
K'riat HaTorah) involves the public reading
of a set of passages from a
Torah scroll.
Torah reading is practiced by adherents of
Orthodox Judaism
according to a set procedure which has allegedly been followed for the
past two thousand years, since the destruction of the
Temple in Jerusalem.
In recent times, new movements such as
Reform Judaism
and
Conservative Judaism
have made adaptations, but the set pattern of
Torah
reading has usually remained the same. On
Shabbat
(Saturday) mornings, a weekly section (parsha)
is read, selected so that the entire Pentateuch is read consecutively each
year!

Across the United States and around the world, Christians has prayed for peace and security in the Holy Land. In turn, dozens of Israeli government spokesmen had appeared at major churches, thanking these Christian friends for their love and support!
We believe in the promise of Genesis 12:3 regarding those that bless Jewish people and the nation of Israel. We believe that there is an eternal covenant between God and the seed of Abraham to which God is faithful. Everything Christians do should be based upon solid Bible text - This is why Christians should support Israel!
"And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curses thee; and in thee shall all nations of the earth be blessed." (Genesis 12:3) God has promised to bless the man or nation that blesses the chosen People. History has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the nations that have blessed the Jewish people have had the blessing of God; the nations that have cursed the Jewish people have experienced the curse of God.
"For if the Gentiles have shared
in their (the Jews) spiritual things, they are indebted to minister to them
also in material things." (Romans 15:27)
Christians
owe a debt of eternal gratitude to the Jewish people for their contributions
that gave birth to the Christian faith.
Yeshua, the Messiah (Jesus Christ),
a prominent Rabbi from Nazareth said,
"Salvation is of the Jews!" (John
4:22)
consider what the Jewish people have given to Christianity:

The Sacred Scripture

(The Torah; Psalms; Judges)
b) The Prophets
of the Scriptures
(Like Enoch, Moses, Elijah,
Elisha and many other major prophets)
c) The Patriarchs (Like
Abraham)
d) Mary, Joseph, and Jesus
Christ of Nazareth
e) The 12 Apostles
It is not possible to say, "I am a Christian" and not love the Jewish
people. The Bible teaches that love is not what you say, but what you do.
(1 John 3:18)
While some Christians try to deny the connection between
Yeshua the Messiah
and the Jews of the world,
Jesus never denied
His Jewishness!
He was
born Jewish, He
was circumcised on the eighth day in keeping with Jewish tradition,
He had his Bar
Mitzvah on his 13th birthday,
He kept
the law of Moses,
He wore
the
Prayer
Shawl Moses commanded all Jewish men to wear,
He died
on a cross with an inscription over
His head,
"KING OF THE JEWS!"
We support Israel because all other nations were created by an act of men, but Israel was created by an act of God! It was given to Abraham and his seed through Isaac and Jacob with an everlasting and unconditional covenant! (Genesis 12:1-3, 13:14-18, 15:1-21, 17:4-8, 22:15-18, 26:1-5 and Psalm 89:28-37.) Israel is still going under the process of miracles today!
We shall love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it. We shall love our neighbor as ourselves. On these two commandments depend the whole law and the prophets. Therefore, we will go into the entire world and preach the good news (the Gospel) to all creation. We are not ashamed of this good news about Messiah, for it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes, Jews first, and also non-Jews. (Deuteronomy 6:4-5, Leviticus 19:18b, Matthew 22:37-40)(Mark 16:15)(Romans 1:16)
The nation of Israel did nothing to deserve or invite the threats!
Israel
has had a hard time over the years explaining its political position and its
need to focus on security. Often we are told, give land, make concessions
and then there will be peace??? What we have understood for many years, the
world still fails to comprehend. The true character of the
Palestinian
leadership is expressed in its Arabic broadcasts to its people, rather than
the polite, peaceful words they mouth in English.
Words, 'we try to explain', just words. The truth is in the buses that are
blown up, in the
graves we dig each week. Even releasing real footage, taken
in the minutes after a bomb explosion does not seem to have impressed the
world. They have yet to understand that the real Palestinian goal is in the
mortars they launch every day, each day, almost without fail. It is in the
rocks that they throw, in the bullets they shoot at us. It is in the
teachings of their children,
the sermons of their religious leaders, the
hatred broadcast in their newspapers and television programs and the
continued calls for more violence!
The nation of Israel did nothing to deserve or invite this threat! It will
do everything to defeat it. Instead of drifting along toward tragedy, they
will set a course toward safety. So that
the days of horror
can stop, if it is not already far too late to act,
this danger of terror
must be removed! Recognizing the
threat
into their nation!
